I haven't been posting blog updates on recent shoots because I tend to use the facebook page to share current and new work. However I am aware that people may not bother checking the facebook page, so I wanted to share a few recent shots and some updates about the studio.
We have installed a new lighting rig which allows us to be more flexible with the lighting, and keep studio lights off the sprung floor. We are loving the new look and versatility of the rig. We've also added some new equipment to the space and the studio is more cosy and comfortable than ever. Clients always comment on what a great atmosphere they walk into.
We have been very busy in the studio for the early part of the year, with all kinds of people coming in for their headshots. Here are just a few of the recent shoots (many of these images are not retouched but selected to illustrate the blog)...
Charlotte
Charlotte is a well established local actor who needed an updated headshot . Sporting a totally new look she was amazing in the studio and we got a really lovely range of expressions and styles.
Kate
Kate is a ball of energy with interests in acting and modelling, and she juggles these pursuits whilst studying a double degree, and working a demanding hospitality job. She's a powerhouse of passion and ideas. Kate's agent sent her in for some headshots to showcase her as an emerging acting talent.
These images are not yet retouched but I just wanted to throw in a few examples until I get the final shots edited as required. These require tidying up in the background as well as some retouching for the hair. But Kate herself doesn't need much post production work at all.
Romina
Romina is an actor who came in to the studio before moving to Melbourne to extend her career opportunities to a broader market. Her new agent wanted her to get updated headshots done straight away, so we got stuck into some friendly, vibrant and cool looks to get her noticed in the big smoke! She is so easy-going and friendly, and this really comes across in her headshots. I hope she feels confident starting fresh in a new city with a solid range of headshots to maximise her work opportunities.
Antony
Antony came in to the studio admitting that his last headshot was too many years ago to remember! His agent sent him in to get his headshot updated to ensure that he was authentically presented for casting agents. He was very easy to work with and we managed to get some great looks and a solid contemporary headshot to keep him on the radar for new opportunities. He needed both colour and B&W for his agent so these versions were supplied as required.
As well as these interesting people, I've been shooting the executive team of a theatre company, and the graduate actors at the Adelaide College of the Arts - stay tuned for blog posts about these shoots in the next few weeks!
