Headshot Prices
Headshot Laboratory is based at Cog Creative Space in Norwood, Adelaide. Run by principal photographer Sam Oster, the studio specialises in quality headshots for professionals. Headshot Laboratory is endorsed by many of Adelaide's leading agencies, and Sam maintains her skills as part of the International Headshot Crew program, run by Peter Hurley (USA). Sam works with a range of hair & makeup artists, and an assistant when necessary, and together they make up a highly professional team. We aim to craft effective headshots that allow subjects to exude character, charm, confidence and approachability.
PRICES / PACKAGES
#1:: Level 1 Headshots
Cost:: $350 + GST
This is the basic headshot package - perfect for actors & professionals wanting an elegant and sophisticated variety of versatile looks to select from. We shoot in the studio with 2 backgrounds (white & grey) and a variety of different tops (at least 5 or 6) to get the best range of looks from the session. This is the Basic package and it's perfect if you want enduring images that will stand the test of time.

Ideal for actors / performers / individuals / LinkedIn Headshots / Profile Portraits / business professionals
#3:: Level 3 Headshots
Cost:: $450 + GST
This option adds a full length OR a mid-shot to your shoot. This is perfect for an extra editorial-style shot for your website, or for actors or models needing a fresh shot for their agency. It's also ideal for corporates needing a bit more variety for their website. We can work with the white cyclorama in studio 1, or a variety of colourful and fun backdrops, a textured backdrop, and a variety of chairs / stools. We could do a shot of you leaning against a wall, or seated on a bench or stool. There are infinite possibilities for how we could approach this and have some fun with an extra shot.

Expect the session to take around 2 hours.
#2:: Level 2 Headshots
Cost:: $400 + GST
This option adds an extra (third) background to your shoot. We have a variety of wonderful & interesting backdrops at the studio, from our blue doors to a range of European hand-painted backdrops. This will add diversity to the images available to select from. We will set this up in a separate studio, which allows us to work with a different style of lighting - this makes it look like your images are from different shoots (rather than the same session). You could consider a different look for this option, with a different hairstyle or makeup look, for example.

#4:: Level 4 Headshots
Cost:: $500 + GST
This option adds a full length AND a mid-shot to your shoot. This is perfect if you are needing a bit more variety for a new website, for social media, for agencies or portfolios. We can work with the white cyclorama in studio 1, or a variety of colourful and fun backdrops, a textured backdrop, and a variety of chairs / stools. There are infinite possibilities for how we could approach this and have some fun with some extra shots.

Hair & Makeup
You are most welcome to do your own hair & makeup (should you even need it), and come to the shoot ready to roll. Remember that most headshots only need a very natural and effortless vibe, so most people should be totally fine with this. However, if you are anything like me, these things don't come naturally and some professional help could be useful!
The benefits of having someone pamper your look is that you can trust someone else to finesse your hair and makeup and work with you to help bring out your best qualities. We often find that hair is the element that needs the most wrangling, and it can be helpful to have someone to finesse hair or tweak your look subtly during the shoot.
We can book a hair & makeup artist to arrive 1 hour before your scheduled shoot. We have a makeup and change room on-site, so you can relax with a cuppa and get pampered before your shoot :)
Natural / classic look 1.5 hours including styling at the start of the shoot: $150+gst (total 1.5 hours inc. 1/2 hr shoot styling)
- PLUS a classic styled / evening look: $200 + gst (total 2.5 hours inc. shoot styling)
PLUS a glamour look: $290 + gst (1/2 day) including shoot styling
Cinematic Headshot
Cinematic Headshots are taken on location, using studio lighting. These shoots are a lot of fun and can provide a more interesting and charismatic headshot. Locations can vary and we can set up at your workplace or at a location that is practical for you. These shoots are a bit more tricky than a studio shoot and we are at the mercy of the weather - but if conditions are favourable this can be a stylish and interesting solution to your headshot. We do have some good locations within 5 minutes of the studio, and these shoots can be blended with a studio shoot if you would like to consider both styles
